I hosted this Facebook live event to give a sneak peek to teachers and parents who participated in a workshop, as they wanted to know more.
Perhaps you, too, are wondering what the Reading Simplified Academy looks like on the inside. What would it be like to be a member?
Are you curious?
Then this Sneak Peek is just for you!
Don't delay….enrollment will be closing soon…
Would I be able to see a sample daily plan of your program so I can make the decision to purchase or not. I am very interested in this since I am working with reading intervention groups with no curriculum and I am piece mealing things for my groups where your program is exactly what I am looking for.
Thanks for your interest, Wende! This post explains the routine that most teachers use in the context of small groups. Let us know if there’s something else you’d like to understand about the system.
Does this work with older students. You mentioned K and 1. Also you mentioned dyslexic students, how does it work for them if they are older. What is the cost fo
What is the price for a year? I forgot when I watched the video Friday night.
Yes, Jerry, the Reading Simplified system serves any reader of any age who is not yet fluent. We use mostly the same 3-step lesson plan and similar activities, but we adjust the words and texts.
This approach works well for those with dyslexia, too, although they will need longer and more intensive intervention to reach grade level reading and beyond.
Right now the annual price is $247 for the 1st year. For those who stay longer, the second year and beyond is $147. Hope you can test it out for yourself: ReadingSimplified.com/academy
My question involves the reading materials that are used. Are the selections provided for teachers to download, as part of the program, for reading and re-reading? If not, what guidance is there to find materials that would match the lessons? Thanks!
Good question Carla! The Reading Simplified Academy includes hundreds of mostly decodable passages that align with our system of reading development. These are accessible as digital PDF downloads.
The passages are grouped by reading level: Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd/3rd grade and 4th/5th grade. We also suggest free or inexpensive texts that complement the program. You can see samples or learn more here: ReadingSimplified.com/academy
To clarify, the materials would serve K-4/5? I work with K-5 and right now have a struggling 2 and 4th grader in particular. Would the materials/lessons be of value to the 4/5 graders as well a Kindergartner depending on their abilities.
I’m very interested but want to be sure I can reach all levels with what is offered.
Thanks! I loved the workshop
Yes, Patti. We have materials for 4 reading levels: K, 1st, 2nd-3rd and 4th-5th. Also, the overall Reading Simplified system fits any person of any age who is not yet fluent. That’s the main thing you’ll learn that’s most important.
